Governor names new Valencia County Commissioner

SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced on Monday the appointment of Christian Garcia to the Valencia County Commission.

A lifelong resident of New Mexico, Garcia served as an elected councilman from 2007-2014. In 2015, Peralta Mayor Bryan Olguin appointed Garcia to the Planning and Zoning Commission, a seat he held for two years and reassumed most recently in 2024.

Garcia’s appointment as Valencia County District 5 County Commissioner began Monday, July 22.
