Governor announces 11th Judicial District Court appointment

SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced the appointment of Stephen Wayne to fill a vacant judicial seat at the Eleventh Judicial District Court.

Wayne’s appointment will fill the seat left vacant following the retirement of Honorable Judge Karen L. Townsend.

As a Children’s Court Attorney, Wayne prosecuted abuse and neglect cases for the New Mexico Child Youth and Family Department for almost three years.

Most recently, Wayne represented indigenous criminal defendants as an associate attorney at Patscheck Law, P.C. in Farmington. Wayne is a graduate of Wayne State University and Wayne State University Law School. He was admitted to the New Mexico bar in 2013. Wayne’s appointment commences on May 25.
