HAPPENING SATURDAY: Community cleanup planned in Albuquerque as part of "Breaking Bad Habits" litter prevention campaign
ALBUQUERQUE – The state of New Mexico's litter prevention campaign, Breaking Bad Habits , will partner with Albuquerque Citizens’ Council and Imagine ABQ to host a community cleanup event on Saturday, Nov. 22, as part of their mission to #KEEPLITTEROUT of New Mexico.
This continued push to engage New Mexico residents in beautifying their state follows the launch of the newest installment of the “Breaking Bad Habits” advertising campaign , this time featuring the fearsome Salamanca Cousins, reminding New Mexicans to take care of their environment.

WHAT: Breaking Bad Habits community cleanup event in Albuquerque's International District. Participants will meet at Albuquerque Fire Rescue Station 5, 123 Dallas St NE. Gloves, trash bags, water and free “Breaking Bad Habits” T-shirts will be provided while supplies last. Attendees are encouraged to wear old, comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes, a hat, sunglasses and to bring their own sunscreen, grabbers and a bucket (optional).
WHO: Individuals, families and groups are invited to join this effort to keep local neighborhoods as well as its natural spaces beautiful and healthy. State employees, Albuquerque Citizens’ Council and Imagine ABQ will participate in the event.
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
