HAPPENING TOMORROW: First meeting of the New Mexico State Fair Tax District Board

SANTA FE – On Thursday, the New Mexico State Fair Tax District Board will hold its first official meeting to establish its structure and working operations.

The board, chaired by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, was established under Senate Bill 481 signed into law by the governor during the 2025 regular legislative session. The legislation established the State Fairgrounds District and authorized a property tax levy and the issuance of up to $500 million in bonds for infrastructure improvements and revitalization of the fairgrounds.
